Lake Mungo Virtual Excursion is an interactive educational series that approaches various curriculum learning areas through video, worksheets and electronic resources. This virtual excursion offers twenty video lessons and an 80 page workbook that form an exploration of Lake Mungo and its History.
Filmed on Paakantji, Ngyiampaa, and Mutthi Mutthi, the excursion traverses history, geography, and science, connecting each video to companion classroom and field learning tasks. Cross-curriculum priority Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Histories and Culture, and Sustainability, offer scope for innovative classroom practices.
Join us on a Virtual Excursion at Lake Mungo, where we will learn the history of Aboriginal culture and heritage while also exploring the scientific significance of the site. Including ancient and Mega Fauna, Fossil formation, and the ecosystem today. The series provides an independent study of the soil composition in the Mungo Lake region, which can be used as a model for students to follow in a local area.
